Spring and summer is a time for gardening and enjoying the outdoors, but it is also a time that we see more snakes and snake bites. Nationally, over 7000 people are bitten by venomous snakes each year. During the summer, HMH typically sees 5-10 venomous snake bites a month.
Join us for a discussion on venomous snakes in our area, including the rattlesnake, copperhead, cottonmouth, and coral snake. The panel of experts will discuss how to avoid being bitten, myths/misconceptions on what to do if you are bitten, and first aid techniques. There will also be a presentation with live snakes to show how quickly snakes can strike. Bring a friend and plan to join us for this informative discussion! Please RSVP to 936-291-4599 or via email.
