A two day celebration beginning March 1 at the Walker Education Center with a Cherokee Tennessee Texas Connection History Panel discussing Sam Houston & Texas Independence followed by a Wine & Cheese Reception and Entertainment - Legends, Lore and Music at the Sam Houston Visitor Center. On March 2 a Luncheon with "Toast to Texas" and Birthday Cake will be held at the Walker Education Center followed by a Gravesite Ceremony - Speaker Dr. Bill O'Neal, Texas State Historian at Oakwood Cemetery.
Immediately following the Gravesite Ceremony a Baptized Texan Ceremony will be held.
Oakwood Cemetery Tours will then be conducted.
