Making the Big Tent: Cotton of Sam Houston's Farm

It's Bearkat Family Weekend at Sam Houston State University, and this year's theme has to do with the circus.  Come and learn about the fiber that make the big tent.  From growing to processing and spinning to weaving, costumed museum staff will help children and adults explore cotton with hands on activities at Bear Bend Cabin.  Touch real cotton bolls, card them, spin them, weave them, and take some seeds home to plant.
