The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce invites the Huntsville community to attend our next Chamber Lunch and Learn Series scheduled for Monday, March 3, featuring Sam Houston State University’s Head Football Coach K. C. Keeler and HISD High School Football Coach & Boys Athletic Director Rodney Southern.  The luncheon will be held at the Huntsville Church of Christ located on 3737 Hwy 30.  The event will begin at 11:45 and will be held in the fellowship hall located at the east end of the building.
 
Keeler has been named the 15^th Head Football Coach for SHSU and brings an overall record of 174 victories, 73 losses and one tie.  Coach Southern was the top pick from 126 candidates and comes from Belton where he coached the Class 5A Belton team since 2007. 

The luncheon will provide an opportunity to introduce Coach Keeler and Coach Southern to the Huntsville community as they share their plans and goals for the Bearkat and Huntsville ISD football department.   

“This is a tremendously exciting opportunity for me and my family,” Keeler said. “We’re coming to an institution that not only has enjoyed outstanding football success recently but also is growing as an academic institution.”
 
In response to the hiring of Southern, HISD Superintendent Dr. Steve Johnson said “district administrators and board members feel the hire will be a fresh start that Hornet supporters can be excited about!”
 
Early seating will begin at 11:30.   Tickets are $15.00 and include a fajita buffet with all the trimmings provided by El Chico.  Reservations are REQUIRED by Friday, February 28^th at noon and can be made by calling the Chamber at 936-295-8113.   The luncheon is open to the public; you do not have to be a chamber member to attend but registration is required and seating is limited.
