When General Sam Houston moved to Huntsville, he acquired 233.5 acres of land and used much of it for farming. From an orchard to a potato patch, growing and cultivating, food was an important part of life. Museum staff members will be out in the vegetable garden and herb patch by the Woodland Home, ready to show off the fruits of our labors and let you get your hands dirty. Bring gloves and be prepared to have a good time. Free, but donations are accepted.
