Walker County Historical Commission, Sam Houston Memorial Museum, and the Sam Houston Statue and Visitors Center announce a coffee at the Sam Houston Statue & Visitor Center at 9:15 a.m. and a ceremony at 11 a.m. at General Sam Houston's gravesite in Oakwood Cemetery. The traditional march to the gravesite will begin at 10:15 a.m. at Austin Hall and proceed along University Ave. A reservation only lunch will follow at 12:30 p.m. at The Homestead on 19th Street. "A Toast to Texas" and Birthday Cake will be at 2 p.m. at the Wynne Home Arts Center. The day's events will end with the Open House and Dedication from 4-6pm for the W.S. Gibbs Conference Hall at the Katy and E. Don Walker, Sr. Education Center. All events are open to the public.
