Family & Friends Soul Food Fest
The 1st Annual Family & Friends Soul Food Festival will be held at the Walker County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
Do you think you can cook? Well, now you will have the opportunity to prove it!!! Enter our Ol" Skool Soul Food Cook-Off featuring $$Jackpot Winnings$$. You will have a opportunity to sample some of the good food, "Just Like Big Mama Used to Make."
There will be good music for your listening pleasure which will include gospel, blues, and zydeco. Other features will include a Kid Zone, Pig-Feet Eating Contest, as well as other entertainment. We will have vendors on hand to satisfy your shopping and eating needs. A portion of our proceeds will benefit the Rev Melvin C McCarter Memorial Scholarship Fund. As many may know, he was a humble and dedicated soul to our community.
