Local radio stations KSAM 101.7 and 104.9 The Hits will once again be spending two days in a camouflage tent in order to MAKE A SMILE HAPPEN (M*A*S*H) for the clients of six different local organizations. Stationed in front of Shenanigans/McKenzie's the radio team, along with ATO fraternity and members of the National Guard will collect toys, gifts and food for the less fortunate in our community - all to "make smiles happen" during the holidays. Every year they begin with some HUGE empty tents and by the end of the two days it is overflowing with generous donations. No toy, gift or food item is too small or too large - they just ask that all merchandise be NEW, not used. All food will stock the Good Shepherd Mission and toys and teen gift items will be distributed among SAAFE House, Santa's Helpers of Wesley Memorial and other churches, Huntsville YMCA, HISD Social Services and items for animal needs will be given to the Rita B. Huff Animal Shelter. Every bit of food, merchandise and cash donated is immediately given to the agencies at the end of M*A*S*H to be distributed to those in need. As long as they last a M*A*S*H T-Shirt is given to anyone with a donation of $20.00 or more value. BUSINESSES, CLUBS, ORGANIZATIONS AND FAMILIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO HELP MAKE A SMILE HAPPEN! For more info tune in to the stations or call Dee Everett at 936-291-2651.
