Elwood P. Dowd’s best friend is a six foot tall imaginary rabbit named Harvey. Elwood was a successful businessman who cast prestige and money aside to spend his time with Harvey, much to the chagrin and embarrassment of his aspiring socialite sister, Veta Louise and her daughter Myrtle Mae. Sam Houston State University College of Fine Arts and Mass Communication is proud to present Harvey by Mary Chase as Raven Rep’s first production of the inaugural season. Harvey is a charming piece of American dramatic literature which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1945 and still resonates today. Come and enjoy this gentle, family friendly comedy that explores the value of friendship and what our acceptance of others who don’t quite fit into the everyday norm might mean in our everyday lives.
